Las Vegas Trip Report

Posted by Roger Rinesmith under: Uncategorized; Family; Carol; Jon.

Roger, Carol and Jon spent the last week of March in Las Vegas with our friends Russ and Kim. We stayed at the Excaliber Hotel, but spent a lot of time dining at each of the great buffets in Las Vegas including the Seafood Buffet at the Rio (see photo).

While Carol and Kim enjoyed the spa services at the Excaliber, Roger and Russ played $4/$8 poker at the Bellagio. After about a 4 days and 20 some hours of poker with Roger sometimes leaving the table being up as much as $160 and other times being down as much as $142 — the week ended with a net loss of only $139.

While in Vegas, we also enjoyed Nathan Burton’s Comedy Magic Show. There are a lot of shows in Vegas — but you will not find a better value for the money. Nathan’s show is top notch and is family friendly. Don’t leave Vegas without seeing this show.

Celebrating Easter

Posted by Roger Rinesmith under: Uncategorized; Family.

In celebration of Easter, we thank God for the risen Christ. One of our family’s favorite songs is “My Savior, My God” by Aaron Shust. If you are not familiar with this song, I encourage you to take a few minutes to listen to it and then add it to your iPod.

I’ve copied a few of the lyrics here that really symbolize God’s love for me (and you).

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me; this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior’s always there for me
My God: He was, my God; He is
My God is always gonna be
